Cabinet Painting in Longview & Vancouver, WA
A sprayed cabinet finish costs a fraction of new cabinets and, done right, looks like it came from a factory. Done wrong, it chips at the first dishwasher cycle. The difference is cleaning, sanding, bonding primer and a catalyzed or hybrid enamel.
Doors and drawer fronts are sprayed in our shop. Boxes are sprayed in place inside a sealed containment. Most kitchens take 5–7 working days including cure time.

Process
How we handle cabinet painting
- 01
Count and quote
We count doors, drawers and end panels and check the wood species and existing finish.
- 02
Remove and label
Every door and hinge is numbered so it goes back exactly where it was.
- 03
Clean and sand
Degreaser, then scuff sanding. Oak gets grain filler if you chose it.
- 04
Prime and spray
Bonding primer, then two coats of enamel in a dust-controlled booth.
- 05
Cure
Doors cure for 48–72 hours before handling.
- 06
Reinstall
Doors rehung, aligned, new bumpers installed, walkthrough.
A typical kitchen has 30 to 60 pieces counting doors, drawer fronts and end panels. The calculator uses that count or a small, medium or large kitchen size to give you a range. The estimate visit confirms the count and the condition of the existing finish.
We use Benjamin Moore Advance, Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane or a catalyzed lacquer depending on the color and the household. White and light colors on dark oak take an extra primer coat, which is written into the proposal.

Cabinet Painting questions
How long can I not use my kitchen?
Boxes are usable with care after 24 hours. Full kitchen is back in service in about a week. Keep a camp kitchen plan for the first three days.
Will the finish chip?
A catalyzed or hybrid enamel over bonding primer resists chipping as well as factory finishes. Normal wear at high-use edges is covered by the 2-year warranty.
Can you paint laminate or thermofoil?
Laminate yes, with a specific bonding primer. Peeling thermofoil needs the foil removed first; we assess it at the estimate.
What about oak grain?
You can keep the grain texture or have it filled for a smooth look. Filling adds about a day and is included in Signature and Heirloom.
