Estimate
We measure the house, check moisture in suspect areas and note any wood repair.

Wash
Low-pressure wash with a mildew treatment. Two to three dry days before paint.

Scrape, sand, prime bare wood, replace failed caulk, set nails.

Windows, roofing, decks and plants covered. Nothing gets overspray.

Spray-and-back-roll body coats, brushed trim. Two coats, checked at the end of each day.

Walk the house with the crew lead, sign off, receive the warranty.
Fiber cement, cedar lap, cedar shingle and T1-11 each fail in different ways. Cedar bleeds tannins through light colors without a stain-blocking primer. T1-11 soaks up paint at the grooves. Fiber cement is easy but needs its factory primer intact. The price calculator applies a siding factor, and the estimate visit confirms it.
Homes built before 1978 may have lead paint under the current coats. We test, and when lead is present we follow EPA RRP rules: containment, no dry sanding or open-flame removal, HEPA vacuuming and documented cleanup. It is included in the pre-1978 price factor.
Weather is the one thing we cannot schedule. We tell you the same day if rain moves a start date, and we do not paint over damp wood to stay on schedule. The warranty depends on that.

Exterior Painting questions
When is the exterior painting season?
Typically April through October. Modern paints can go on down to 35°F, so we stretch the season when surfaces are dry. Your proposal shows the planned week.
How often should I repaint?
Good prep and a premium paint lasts 8–12 years on fiber cement and 6–10 on cedar. Sun-facing sides go first; we can do a south-and-west refresh instead of a full repaint.
Do you spray or brush?
Both. Siding is sprayed and back-rolled so paint is worked into the surface. Trim, doors and railings are brushed.
What about moss and mildew?
The wash includes a mildewcide. Persistent shaded walls get a mildew-resistant topcoat.
Can you paint vinyl siding?
Yes, with vinyl-safe colors that do not warp the siding. Darker colors need a specific formula; we check before we quote.
