Deck & Fence Staining in Longview & Vancouver, WA
Wet winters and summer sun are hard on exterior wood. Cleaning, brightening and a penetrating oil or hybrid stain every two to three years keeps a cedar deck from going gray and splintering.
We clean with a wood-safe cleaner, neutralize with a brightener, sand rough boards and apply stain by brush and pad so it penetrates instead of sitting on top.

Deck & Fence Staining questions
Transparent, semi-transparent or solid?
Transparent shows the most grain and lasts the least. Semi-transparent is the usual choice. Solid stain covers gray wood and old solid stain and lasts longest.
How often should I restain?
Every 2–3 years for horizontal surfaces, 4–5 for fences and railings.
Can you stain a new deck?
New pressure-treated wood should weather 2–3 months first. New cedar can be stained after a wash.
